Despite having lost my vision during my early childhood, I have kept very vivid memories of what it was like to experience the world through sight. Most meaningful to me have been my memories of color, which have remained a major part of how I experience the world around me as someone who experiences a neurological condition called synesthesia. Those with this condition experience one sense as one or more others, with my particular case causing me to “see” sound. This connection became all the more meaningful as I pursued a career in music. My passion for music and how I experience it inspired me to start Music in Color, a blog where I write about my experiences with this condition in the form of concert and album reviews.
